The Daily Cafe

One teacher, K-3

#1

I have used Daily 5 in both first grade and fourth grade, I have dabbled in CAFE. Next year I will be teaching K, first, second, and third grade as the only teacher in a small rural school. I will have about 16 kids and two assistants? I am really excited but am trying to wrap my head around things. Any thoughts, ideas, or advice would be appreciated…

Wow!! Almost your one-room school house!! About how many students will you have?

I also teach at a small rural school! I have a multi age classroom with students of widely varying abilities.(ages 5-9)
D5 has been so helpful, making sure the children are being taught at their level. Will you have any students who have been in your room before? If so, set them up as coaches, especially with your youngest. Lay in a good supply of AA and A, B books for your youngest as well.
Also…make sure your procedures are clear, reviewed and practiced so the children know just what to do.
Best wishes~You can do it!
